Elsyca searches for Project Engineer

Elsyca is a Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) based software and service provider that was founded as a spin-off from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Elsyca develops pioneering software for the design and modelling of applications in a wide range of electrochemical processes, as for example electrochemical surface finishing (e.g. plating, electropolishing, e-coating), cathodic protection of buried and submerged structures and corrosion risk mitigation. In many cases, Elsyca’s CAE based services and software lead to important performance gains and cost savings, faster time-to-market of new products, and even prove to be enabling technology for novel applications. Elsyca delivers its CAE based services to a worldwide customer base, including many OEMs and Tier 1 companies in the Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Automotive and Medical industries.

For the further expansion of its engineering team, Elsyca is now searching for a Project Engineer. As a project engineer you will be involved in Elsyca’s CAE projects with focus on: 1) Laboratory characterization of electrochemical surface treatment processes and corrosion phenomena, 2) Post-processing of laboratory characterization data, 3) Creating and running simulation models in various Elsyca CAE software packages (see www.elsyca.com/solutions), 4) Project data gathering, 5) Generating project reports and 6) Communication with customers.

The position is to be filled at the Elsyca headquarters located in Wijgmaal (Leuven, Belgium). The project engineer will communicate and collaborate with the engineering team members in Leuven (Belgium), ClujNapoca (Romania) and the US. As a project engineer, you will report to the project managers in charge of the respective projects. On the mid-long term, depending on performance, a career opportunity evolving to the level of project manager is expected.

Elsyca searches for RTD Engineer

Elsyca is a Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) based software and service provider that was founded as a spin-off from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Elsyca develops pioneering software for the design, modelling, and optimization of applications in a wide range of electrochemical processes. The Elsyca RTD department enables the further development of Elsyca’s high-end software and services to be applied to novel high-tech applications, as for example the electropolishing of 3D printed metal parts. Elsyca RTD participates in several strategic Horizon 2020 projects on novel cutting-edge applications with an often game changing ecological impact, involving renowned industrial and academic partners from all over the EU.

For the further expansion of its Research & Technology Development team, Elsyca is searching for an RTD Engineer. As an RTD engineer you will be involved in Elsyca’s RTD projects in the field of electrochemical surface finishing and corrosion mitigation. Your work will include: 1) Project data gathering, 2) Literature search for evaluating the state-of-art with respect to project scope, 3) Define and plan Elsyca research activities in different project work packages, 4) Execute research activities, evaluate results with a critical mindset and redefine or adjust research activities where necessary, 5) Create and run simulation models in various Elsyca software environments, 6) Compile RTD project reports and other project deliverables and 7) Communicate with other project partners.

The position is to be filled at the Elsyca headquarters located in Wijgmaal (Leuven, Belgium). The RTD Engineer will also communicate with the Elsyca IT department on model extensions and software implementations to be made within the scope of ongoing R&D project deliverables and validate these model extensions. As an RTD engineer, you will report to the R&D project managers in charge of the respective projects.

UGent searches for Platform Manager Additive Manufacturing

We probably don't have to tell you that the industrial importance of Additive Manufacturing has grown significantly in recent years. The AM market has grown into a billion-dollar business worldwide and continues to grow.

In order to make AM an enabling technology for AUGent, AUGent, with the support of the Industrial Research Fund (Industrieel OnderzoeksFonds, IOF), wants to set up a multidisciplinary platform around this technology. A platform manager will be recruited to support the start-up and development of this platform.

The AM platform bundles multidisciplinary expertise within AUGent and is a collaboration 'from material to application' that goes beyond the boundaries of the existing AUGent structures. The existing research and expertise cover different materials and related applications, including polymers, metals, and concrete. The platform aims to (1) create a shared vision on AM for AUGent; (2) promote and accelerate the development and application of AM technology from within AUGent; (3) facilitate top-level research and valorisation in various disciplines in which AM has a growing interest; and (4) position AUGent internationally as an AM knowledge hub.

The platform manager plays a central and facilitating role in the creation and further expansion of the AM platform and will support AUGent researchers and existing IOF business developers.
