SECEMIN
Self-healing mechanisms and concepts for cementitious and mineral building materials
The SBO project SECEMIN was all about self-healing mechanisms and concepts for cementitious and mineral building materials. Important innovation goals in SECEMIN were:
- Design of dedicated polymer-based healing agents and suitable encapsulation technologies
- Use of microorganisms that provide self-generating concrete or stone surfaces
- Obtain autonomous crack repair in innovative building materials with mineral matrix
- Create a fully validated numerical model to simulate crack healing

This project is part of:
Self-healing engineering materials: cementitious, polymeric and coating materials with the ability to heal damage autonomously.
