Meeting Materials: "Materials under combined durability conditions"

Event date:
Wednesday 13 November - 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Location:
Kasteel Rozelaar, Lochristi

Meeting Materials "Looking at Materials under Combined Durability Conditions" was organized by SIM (Strategic Initiative Materials) in association with M2i, the Dutch Materials innovation institute. The symposium included talks by industrial and academic speakers, exposing both the practical and theoretical side of materials subjected to combined damage mechanisms. Elevator pitches (2 minute presentations) were also included.

The goal of this one-day meeting was to bring together people from several areas in the field of materials in an informative and informal atmosphere.

Topics included material behaviour in dredging and deep sea mining, steel in extreme conditions, extreme sealing systems, corrosion/abrasion in agriculture application and new developments in detection and monitoring.
